Meet StrayBones Collective

Hey, I'm Sharna and I'm Rod. We’re husband and wife, and the creators of StrayBones Collective.

Our name is a mix of the past, present and future. We’re just an everyday couple from Wollongong. We’ve got a son called Ethan and we love being outdoors, doing activities, heading off in the caravan and just having fun together. Spending time with each other is our main priority.

We thought life was all sorted and we were on the right track… until life threw us a curveball and Rod became a stay-at-home dad. To keep him at home and still keep the lifestyle we’d gotten used to, we needed another income.

We started looking for other options, and an online business model came up. We joined and started building. I stayed in my childcare position, but the more we worked on this the more I realised: why am I still staying in a traditional 9–5 job, stressing about everything?

So I jumped on board properly and knuckled down to build this business alongside him. This online model gives us a way to reach goals that are hard to hit in a normal job, and it gives us way more family time – which is the whole point for us.

Our main objective is to help other families like us live the life they actually want: more time freedom, the ability to work from different places, travel, and just be present with your family and your kids. They’re the main reasons we’re doing this.

Rod runs the back end of the systems, keeps everything maintained and helps put the content together. He’s mainly behind the scenes, but you’ll see him pop up every now and then too.
